BLUElab Thailand
Project Leader(s):
Ava Shuttie (ashuttie@umich.edu) Cassidy Luukart (cluukart@umich.edu) Project Location(s): Northern Thailand Current Focus: We have recently returned from our first needs assessment trip to Mae Chan Thailand. We are now focused on identifying design specifications and starting concept development for one of the needs we identified. Mission: Our mission is to create a human centered solution to one of four previously identified issues relating to flood mitigation in Mae Chan Thailand. Team History: Our team was founded in April 2016. Three of our founding members traveled to Thailand to explore potential partnerships with a few different groups. Following this trip BLUElab Thailand decided to partner with OASYS Research Group at Chiang Mai University to work on a project in Mae Chan District, Thailand. From Sept. 2016-April 2017 our team kept in contact with OASYS while preparing for a needs assessment trip. This trip was completed during May 2017 after which we produced a report which identified four potential projects to be pursued.
