Project Location(s): Mexico City, Mexico
Current Focus: Biogas International is currently working on new biogas technologies to improve the lives of farmers in the Mexico City area. These technologies include biogas sensing, filtration, and purification. These technologies aim to improve farmer health outcomes and the usefulness of their biogas systems.
Mission: The BLUELab Biogas International Team is committed to developing and implementing sustainable designs to address energy needs with attention to social responsibility. Our mission is to build partnerships in order to empower rural communities to restore their environment, improve their health outcomes, and achieve economic sustainability. We believe that simple, green, and inexpensive solutions can have large impacts.
Vision: In coming years, the technologies the BLUElab Biogas International Team develops will become parts of sustainably produced biogas digestion systems for farmers throughout Mexico and Central America. Members of the team will have the experience and confidence to advocate for sustainability and human-centered design practices in their professional lives.
Team History: The Biogas Team has been in place for over a decade and has worked on biogas digester technologies both locally and abroad. Biogas International has worked both in Liberia and Mexico with local communities and larger environmental organizations.
